Quick Restaurant Review: Tribute at the Houstonian

Amazing new restaurant alert! If you find yourself in the Houston area, there is a fabulous new restaurant you have to check out. The Tribute at the Houstonian offers up a gorgeously rustic fine cuisine experience inspired by Texas, Louisiana, and Mexico. I got a sneak peek of their menu and wine pairings earlier this week before their grand opening on October 26th and it was absolutely heavenly. My personal favorites were the wood Fried Gulf Oysters with Chorizo Butter and Churros with vlarhona dulce ice cream & spiced hot chocolate. While you’re at it, don’t pass up on a …

Crown Royal Texas Mesquite: Smoked to Perfection

There are many perks to being a writer and recipe developer in the food and drinks industry. I literally eat and drink for a living. It’s the ultimate life-hack. Pure Imagination at Garden Grove Austin

One of the consistent topics that my social media following brings up is ‘weddings’. You wouldn’t think that a food blogger should have any expertise in weddings, but I constantly find myself fielding questions and offering advice to my readership. At first I was surprised and then I came to a realization: food and drinks are one of the biggest decisions couples make when planning their weddings. Which leads me to the main issue that arises when coordinating the edible portion of the festivities: location vs. food. Most wedding venues come with a built-in menu and drink selection. Which, let’s …

Hurricane Harvey

Life after Hurricane Harvey

Please consider donating whatever you can to The Houston Food Bank here. If you have been following me on social media this past week, then you know that I live in Houston, Texas. When Hurricane Harvey hit, I naively thought that I would not be too inconvenienced by the storm. In fact, I was a bit excited to be hunkered down in our home with my family, have a front row seat to the weather, and enjoy a relaxing weekend indoors. I don’t know what I was thinking. Within 24 hours of Harvey making landfall, my life changed. My secure, safe …
