Time is the most valuable commodity in a busy family’s schedule. From work demands, school agendas, basic household chores, and extracurricular activities, time isn’t something of abundance. But as any parent knows, it’s not the quantity but the quality of that extra free time that really matters: Putting down the phone to have an in-depth discussion about Elsa’s wintery powers; setting aside dirty dishes for an impromptu dance party to the Vampirina theme song; and sitting down to a proper dinner to talk about the day’s adventures. For a busy family, that last one is both an essential use of precious time and an extremely difficult task to pull off. To help, I’ve teamed up with Tyson Foods to give you a fun dinner recipe that can be prepped in advance. This is my Blooming Chicken Dinner Tart.
Anyone who has ever meal-prepped knows that it’s a great way to save time and energy in the long run. That is why I specifically created this recipe to be meal-prep friendly. You can make a bunch of these tarts on the weekend and have a week’s worth of family-approved meals ready to go. That way, when it’s time to sit down to a nice meal together, you everything is set. So get the recipe here and for the step-by-step tutorial, make sure to scroll down…

DIRECTIONS:
Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strips are a great tool in a busy parent’s arsenal. You can find it in the frozen food aisle at your local Walmart and store it in the freezer for dinnertime goodness. From dad to kid, it’s a great protein option for the whole family. The strips are made with 100% all natural white meat chicken, is 97% fat free, and has no added hormones, steroids, or preservatives. As an extra bonus, it comes in a re-sealable bag, so you don’t have to worry about freshness. You’ll also be able to easily find all the recipe ingredients at your local Walmart as well, because who has time to make multiple market stops?! For a little variety, you can also purchase Tyson Any’tizers® Popcorn Chicken, Tyson Chicken Nuggets, and Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips.
Okay, let’s get to the step-by-step tutorial, shall we? Defrost the Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strips and frozen puff pastry sheet. Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a popover or muffin pan. Then roll out the puff pastry dough until it is approximately 11×14” and then cut it into 6 equal pieces.
Next, gently push each piece inside the popover pan to line each cavity with the dough.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the brown rice, onion, garlic paste, and basil.
Add a tablespoon of the rice mixture to each dough-lined popover cavity.
Cut off excess stalk and then place 1-2 broccolinis in each tart.
Then add 2 pieces of the Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strips to the tart. Top off with more of the rice mixture.
Fold any excess dough over the top and bake approximately 15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool before serving. And then you have a lovely dinner that the whole family can enjoy!
As an extra bonus, these little tarts are so cute and fun that the kids won’t notice that you slipped veggies inside. It’s a win-win! Make sure to visit your local Walmart from 6/14-6/17 for in-store demos from the Tasty videos to give you more dinner ideas with Tyson chicken and use this Ibotta offer to save! So what do you think? Is this a manageable recipe for a busy family? Let me know your thoughts below and also shout out your go-to family meal.
