Bundaberg Mexican Mule

Happy Cinco de Mayo, my friends! We’re eating our share of Mexican food here at the headquarters and (literally) shaking up some untraditional holiday drinks. With the help of Bundaberg Ginger Beer, we’re celebrating the festive day, not with margaritas, but with Mexican Mules! I know, it’s right about now you’re probably a bit confused… a Mexican take on a traditionally Russian cocktail, made primarily with an Australian ginger beer?! Well, this is the part where you take a leap of faith and we fulfill our oath to add a bit of whimsy and fun to your foodie adventures. So check follow along as we mix up a batch of the Bundaberg Mexican Mules and check out a few other cocktail recipes that the delicious brand has supplied us with.

Mexican Mule

INGREDIENTS

1.7 fl.oz Tequila

Bundaberg Ginger Beer

0.8 fl.oz Lime juice

0.33 fl.oz sugar syrup

2 x small pieces of ginger

1 x lime wedge to garnish

DIRECTIONS

  1. Muddle ginger and combine remaining ingredients into a shaker
  2. Shake, then strain into a copper mug and top with Bundaberg Ginger Beer
  3. Add crushed ice and a lime wedge to garnish. ¡Salud!

Mexican Heat

INGREDIENTS

1.7 fl. Oz Tequila

Bundaberg Blood Orange

0.8 fl. Oz Lemon

½ small chili pepper

A pinch of cilantro to garnish 

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine the ingredients into a shaker
  2. Shake, then strain into a glass and top with Bundaberg Blood Orange
  3. Add ice and garnish with the chili pepper and a pinch of cilantro ¡Salud!

Ignite

INGREDIENTS

1.7 fl. oz Blanco Tequila

Bundaberg Ginger Beer

0.7 fl. oz Lime juice

1 hot pepper

Pinch cilantro

1/2 hot pepper to garnish

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine the ingredients into a shaker
  2. Shake, then strain into a glass and top with Bundaberg Ginger Beer
  3. Add ice and ½ pepper to garnish ¡Salud!
