We have been on a cocktail and wine streak lately, so why mess up a good thing?! Let’s continue our good fortune of fantastic drinks with a ridiculously decadent recipe from Patrón. My lovely friends at the company have sent me today’s physics-bending cocktail and I simply couldn’t wait to share it with you all. Personally, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Created in NYC by the head mixologist, Rael Petit, at Delilah, this beauty comes with a whooping $100 price tag. Yeah, you heard me right… 100 buckaroos, my friends. At this point, it’s natural to wonder who in their right mind would pay that much for a single drink at a bar? But trust me, if you were offered to option to purchase a mini cosmic universe in a glass (and you had that sort of disposable income), you’d take the bate. But fret not, you don’t have to hop on a plane to the Big Apple to experience one of these magic unicorn blood drinks. I have the recipe! And although this might be out of most of our mixology leagues, it certainly is worth seeing. So without further ado…
PLATINUM MARGARITA
INGREDIENTS:
2 ounces of Gran Patrón Platinum Tequila
1 ounce of Dolin Vermouth
2 dashes of Rose Water
0.25 ounces of Agave Syrup
0.5 ounces of Fresh Lime Juice
DIRECTIONS:
- Stir all ingredients with ice for 30 seconds then pour in a mixing glass.
- In a mixing glass, add 1 bar spoon edible platinum color and 1 pinch xanthan gum.
- Pour into a margarita glass and enjoy!
So, who’s going to attempt this magical feat in mixology? Anyone?! If I can track down some “edible platinum” coloring, you will be seeing this at our party, family members. Special thanks to my lovely friends at Patrón for being so generous with your secret recipes! Make sure to pick up a bottle of Gran Patrón Platinum Tequila when your stocking your home bar.
