Do you remember the sheer exhilaration that pulsed through your veins the first time your crush acknowledged your existence?  You know, that moment that he actually made eye-contact with you, gave you a half-smile, and sent your heart into cardiac arrest?  Well, I just had one of those moments… with Gevalia Coffee. For the past decade, I have been a Gevalia-phile.  From saving up to purchase the company’s coffee maker for my first apartment to forgoing shopping excursions with girlfriends so I could afford my monthly coffee subscription… I’ve been a bit obsessed.  So, you can imagine the heart-pounding elation when the iconic company contacted me for today’s collaboration.  Quick, someone pinch me!  Now in full disclosure, I participated in an Ambassador Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Gevalia Iced Coffee with Almond Milk and thus received product samples and a promotional item to facilitate today’s review.  Alright now that I’ve satisfied the legal team, let’s get to the goods! The brand sent me the three flavors in their new line of Gevalia Iced Coffees with Almond Milk.  The drinks have nine grams of protein per single serve carton, are made with 100% Arabica Gevalia coffee, are sweetened with real sugar, and have a creamy almond milk addition.  They also come in three yummy flavors:  Vanilla, Mocha, and Caramel. For the sake of science, I sacrificed and tried all three flavors (hey, a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do!).  To say that I enjoyed them would be an understatement… I downed those puppies like a shipwrecked castaway ravages a coconut!  The best part of all?  They’re portable!  Grab one out of the fridge and head out for your busy day with a deliciously refreshing caffeine boost.  I also must say that with a tummy that’s not so conducive to a ton of milk products, the use of almond milk to make the drink lactose-free is an added bonus.
When I’m feeling particularly saucy, I like to treat myself to a bit of heavenly decadence. So as if the Gevalia Iced Coffees with Almond Milk wasn’t enough, let’s spruce up the drink in honor of “Treat Yourself Week”, shall we?  How about we add a devilishly delicious whipped cream topper to the coffee?!  Are you in?  It’s time to treat yo’ self!

 

ROSEWATER WHIPPED CREAM
  
INGREDIENTS
  1. 2 tablespoons of Rosewater
  2. 1 tablespoon gelatin powder (unflavored)
  3. 2 cups of heavy cream
  4. 2 cups of confectioner’s sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Add all the ingredients to a stand mixer or large mixing bowl.
  2. Beat the ingredients with a mixer until stiff peaks form or it is about the consistency of buttercream frosting (approximately 5 to 10 minutes).
  3. Top your iced coffee with a generous amount of the whipped cream. Add nutmeg, cinnamon, and drizzled honey for an extra bit of decadence. Enjoy!
