Pomegranate French Toast Casserole
Time: 1 hr.; Serves: 8
INGREDIENTS:
2 Schär Gluten-Free Baguettes
4 eggs
1 ½ c. whole milk
½ c. brown sugar
¼ c. pomegranate seeds
2 tbs. sweetened condensed milk
1 ½ tsp. vanilla extract
½ tsp. nutmeg
½ tsp. allspice
½ tsp. cloves
DIRECTIONS:
This is a pretty straightforward recipe to whip together, but lets walk through it together just in case. First, grease a 9×13 casserole dish and preheat the oven to 350°F. Cut two Schär Gluten-Free Baguettes into 1” cubes. If you have family with Celiacs or gluten sensitivities, then you can’t beat Schär Gluten-Free products. The brand offers a variety of breads, crackers, pizzas, and more in a conscientious and delicious way. And they’re super easy to find at your local Walmart. Just look for the “Gluten Free” aisle and you have a ton of Schär products at your fingertips.
Next, you’ll want to mix together 4 eggs, 1 ½ cups of milk, ½ cup of brown sugar, 1 ½ teaspoons of vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon of nutmeg, ½ teaspoon of allspice, and ½ teaspoon of cloves in a large bowl.
Add the Schär Gluten-Free Baguette cubes into the wet mixture. Gently mix until cubes are fully saturated. Pour the contents into the casserole dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle the top ¼ cup of pomegranate seeds. Then, place in the oven and bake approximately 40 minutes.
Remove and let cool slightly. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk. Serve with maple syrup and enjoy!
A delightful holiday breakfast for the whole family! Make sure to pick up all your favorite Schär products on your next grocery run. So tell me, what is your favorite holiday breakfast recipe?
