On the heels of this fabulous idea from Malt-O-Meal, I am going to take a moment to myself. It’s a pandemic, I am beyond stressed. So dang-nabbit I want a bubble bath and some nostalgic cereal treats! So I have decided to add “Treat Yo’ Mamma” curriculum to my daughter’s homeschool schedule. It includes a math lesson with a simple, kid-friendly recipe to create Malt-O-Meal Crispy Treats.

Berry Colossal Crunch® Crispies

Time: 10 min.; Yields: 12

INGREDIENTS:

• 6 cups of Malt-O-Meal Berry Colossal Crunch® Cereal
• 6 cups of marshmallows
• 1/4 cup of butter

DIRECTIONS:

1. Melt the butter in a large pot.
2. Add the marshmallows to the pot and coat with the melted butter. Stir continuously until marshmallows are completely melted.
3. Turn off the heat and add the Berry Colossal Crunch® Cereal. Mix thoroughly with the melted marshmallows and pour into a greased 8”x8” glass pan. 
4. Pack the treats tightly in the pan and let cool completely. Cut out the crispy treat servings and enjoy!

Now that the treats are in order, the rest of the ‘curriculum’ can commence. A reading lesson with a fun scavenger hunt to find mommy’s favorite hardcover on the bookshelf. Got to cover our ABCs! And lastly a science experiment where my daughter needs to figure out how many bubbles, bath bombs, and candles make for a luxurious bath. She quickly figured out that the more, the better… I couldn’t have been prouder. Oh and this was also a good time to learn the importance of putting away bath toys.

The last lesson will be timed to coincide with Daddy’s home arrival time. All that is left is to leave extra Berry Colossal Crunch® Crispies to distract the kid (and husband) folk!
