I think it is safe to say that we are all getting a bit stir crazy right about now. Most of the nation and world have been on lockdown for about a month and the days are starting to blur together. And if you have a little one at home, like me, then you are probably running out of entertaining ideas. That is why I am thrilled to team up with the Dolittle DVD crew to create a break in the quarantine monotony. Who is up for a Dolittle + Animal Pizza Movie Night?! Follow along below for the step-by-step tutorial for an easy themed night that the kids can help organize. Not only will it be fun for the whole family, it’ll actually help pass all this time we have while being cooped up!
My daughter is 4-years-old and thinks she is a wolf. Her love for animals finds her conjuring up a whole imaginary world around her. She howls at the moon, growls at her stuffed animals, and runs like the wind after prey. My daughter is completely immersed in the wild world of wolves and believes she alone can understand them. So when I heard that the new Dolittle DVD was now available at my local Walmart, I was thrilled. A heartwarming tale of a doctor who speaks to animals and goes on wild adventures?! I knew a movie themed night was in order.
Here is what you will need to whip up a Dolittle + Animal Pizza Party…
Assuming your grocery shopping situation is similar to mine, I have made sure the ingredient list is simple and likely features items you already have in the house. So lets get to making our polar bear, tiger, and pig pizzas! First, spread the tomato sauce along the top of each pizza. Then sprinkle the crust with granulated garlic and top with shredded cheese.
To make the tiger pizza, use a half olive for the nose and two sliced olives for the eyes. Then cut a string cheese stick into pieces to create the whiskers.
To make the polar bear pizza, flatten out the round wheel of snack cheese and place in the middle of the pizza. That’s it! The rest of the decoration will come after the pizza is cooked.
To create the pig pizza, place a salami or pepperoni slice in the middle of the pizza for the nose. Then cut two other pepperoni slices into triangles to make the ears. Lastly place two olive slices for the eyes.
Bake the pizzas in the oven for 8-10 minutes at 400F. Remove, let cool slightly and then finish up the face decor with some fresh ingredients. Use herbs and mushroom slices for the mouths, ears, and nostrils.
All that is left to do is sit down as a family and watch the Dolittle DVD while enjoying your animal pizzas. A little levity and family-fun adventure in an otherwise stressful time. Make sure to pick up the Dolittle DVD at your local Walmart or order it on Walmart.com. Stay safe and healthy, my friends!
