Stuck in the house a bit more than usual? Yeah, me too. Let’s make the best of it with some fun twists on delicious classics. Today with the help of Gorton’s Beer Battered Fish Fillets, I am putting a bit of Gulf flair on a British classic. Featuring air-fried okra and garlic aioli, here is my scrumptious “Fish Friday” recipe for Southern Fish & Chips…

If you have ever visited the South, then you know that okra is a staple. It’s uniquely crispy, wonderfully flavorful, and a fantastic substitute to pair with fish. This is a super easy recipe to pull together, but just in case, let’s walk through it together.
Let’s start off with the fish! I highly recommend you use Gorton’s Beer Battered Fish Fillets for today’s recipe. They are coated in a crispy draft beer batter, for a pub-style experience. They are 100% whole fillet fish with no fillers, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors, hydrogenated oils, and antibiotics. Flash-frozen at peak freshness and a natural source of omega-3’s and protein, Gorton’s Beer Battered Fish Fillets are made from wild caught Alaska Pollock. Place the fillets on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake per the product instructions.
Next place 1 tablespoon of olive oil at the bottom of the air fryer tray and throw in all the okra. Air fry for 20 minutes at 390°F.
While both the fish and okra are cooking, make the cheese garnish. Combine the 1/4 cup of parmesan, 1 tablespoon of thyme, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of pepper in a small bowl. Set aside.
Once everything is cooked, remove and serve hot. Separate the okra and fish fillets onto four plates. Garnish with the parmesan mixture and top with garlic aioli. Enjoy!
There you have it, my friends! Add Gorton’s Beer Battered Fish Fillets to your curb-side pickup order at your local market and enjoy this Southern take on a classic.
