3 Bourbons for your Fall Sipping

If you have been following along with me on Instagram, then you know that I have been teaming up a lot lately with Cask Cartel. The online shop is a haven for premium and rare spirits. So with the help of our lovely friends at Cask Cartel, here are three of my top whiskeys for fall sipping from my Instagram account…

David Nicholson Reserve

David Nicholson Reserve Cask Cartel

You know in old Westerns, when a rough n’ tumble sort of fella walks into a saloon and orders the strongest drink behind the bar? Well, I imagine this was it. I had the transcendental pleasure of sampling David Nicholson Reserve from my lovely friends at @CaskCartel and it was quite the experience. This caramel colored jewel is a 100 Proof 50% ABV, 2017 Double Gold & Best Straight Bourbon award winning Rye. Named for a St. Louis grocery store owner who created the ’43’ recipe in 1843, it is as complex and bold as it looks. With a nose of sweet honey and warm vanilla, it immediately hits your palate with smoke, oak, and a mild spice finish. The strong, restorative quality of sipping on a dram of David Nicholson Reserve seriously nods and winks to the eras of the Wild West and Gold Rush lawlessness. It truly is like stepping back in a time machine! For it’s complexity and historical value, I give this a solid 4 out of 5 rating!

2019 Yellowstone Limited Edition

Yellowstone Whiskey Cask Cartel

Who else is ready for some major weekend vibes? I certainly am! And I’ll even tell you what I will be sipping on come 5:01pm today… Yellowstone Select and the 2019 Yellowstone Limited Edition bourbon, baby! These are the ultimate in classic bourbons sipping. From the Beam family, the Yellowstone Select is a wonderfully smooth blend of sweet, spicy, and smoky bourbons. It’s like taking a sipping tour of the established Southern houses of bourbon. But it’s the 2019 Yellowstone Limited Edition dram I’m truly going to savor today. A blend of 9 and 12 year barrels at 101 proof, you know I’m going to having some major TGIF vibes. I give it a 4 out of 5 and highly recommend you join me in a dram after work!

Blood Oath Pact 5 Whiskey

Blood Oath No. 5 Bourbon - Cask Cartel 1

Sometime’s dreams do come true! I had the divine pleasure of taste-testing Blood Oath Pact 5 Whiskey from @caskcartel. Oh was it heavenly! Solid bourbon caramel instantly consumes the tongue as a rich complexity of cinnamon and vanilla notes unfolds. The sipping ends with the smoothest finish I have ever experienced, as a delightfully spicy-sweetness softly dissolves into a lingering aroma of whiskey perfection. Absolutely lovely! Here are the official release notes for those fellow spirits geeks… “A masterful union of three well-bred bourbons. One, a 13-year mahogany bourbon, unapologetically peppery with shavings of dark chocolate. Two, an 11-year silky, wheated bourbon rich with vanilla and honey. And three, an 8-year find, finished in Caribbean rum barrels to impart orange, brown sugar and warm island spice. Every sip, an uncharted, sensory adventure.” Make sure to check out more premium spirits at @caskcartel!
