A lot of us spend time thinking about indoor renovations such as new wallpaper, new interior painting, new furniture and so on. While it’s never a bad idea to give your home a little makeover (especially if it’s within your budget) you can’t forget that there’s another component to your home that should also be renovated; the outdoors.

Be it landscaping, adding trees, planting new flowers, replacing windows or getting new siding, it’s never a bad idea to also consider renovating your exterior to make your home stand out from the neighbors. In fact, smart outdoor renovations can open up completely new options such as outdoor living spaces that will convince you to spend a bit more time outdoors, even if it’s just on your patio.

To help convince you, we’ve put together 5 reasons to consider renovating your outdoor living spaces and not just your indoors.

1. Create more living space in your home

Renovating an outdoor living space can help give your home a little more floor space. If you’ve got a relatively large patio or garden then creating a relaxing space outdoors can help you move furniture out and also give you more room to relax with friends, cook or even enjoy some entertainment.

2. Repair damage to your exterior

Our home exterior is one of the most common places to see damage to our home. Whether it’s due to adverse weather conditions, heat from the sun or just general wear and tear, it’s not uncommon to see dried paint and dirty siding after a couple of years. Renovating your exterior will help refresh the exterior of your home and make it look far more pleasing from the outside.

3. Add more value to your home

Adding more space to your home through an outdoor living area can help add a lot of value to your home. This is especially true if you’re willing to go the extra mile and create a sheltered area deeper in your garden or even extend your patio. There’s even the option of adding a conservatory that will give your home a lot of extra storage and floor space.

4. Upgrade elements that can be seen from indoors

Renovating outdoor living spaces can also have an effect on the interior design of your home. For instance, you can hire Siding & Windows Group to help you replace the windows in your home with more sophisticated options and you can also plant trees and flowers which can be seen from the windows of your home. There are plenty of fantastic options for outdoor renovations that can also affect the indoors–it just takes a little imagination.

5. More entertainment and group options

Lastly, renovating your outdoor living spaces will give you more options for entertainment and group activities. Neighborhood or family barbeques are a great option, you’ll have a nicer space to inflate a pool and replacing your typical plastic or wooden furniture with something more modern is a fantastic way to decorate the outdoors with something more appealing to your guests.

These are all great reasons. We live in a rental house for now but we did screen in the front porch and get furniture for it so we can enjoy the beautiful view here where we live.
