Eating during the holidays can be a joy. But it can also feel like a chore. By the time I’ve hit up my 5th party, I feel like I’m running a festive food marathon. So many delicious treats baked with love… it almost makes me sick! So to beat seasonal gluttony, this year I am going to do the swap. Anytime I am able, I am going to swap out certain foods for healthier alternatives. First up on my list? Pizza! My family’s go-to, post holiday shopping meal is going to be swapped with the new Green Giant Cauliflower Pizza Crust. Who’s up for a slice of my Spiced Pear Cauliflower Pizza?
If I were a superhero, my nemesis would be able to take me down with a single pizza delivery guy. Seriously, those hot little pies of doughy goodness are going to be my downfall. So I’m trying something new and adding a bit more balance into my life. I’ve decided to jump on the cauliflower bandwagon and swap out my usual dough with Green Giant Cauliflower Pizza Crust. First off, it’s available pre-made in the frozen veggie aisle at Walmart, making the swap very easy to do. Second, it’s made with 80% cauliflower, giving it fewer calories than regular pizza dough. Lastly, it’s quite delicious so I don’t feel like I’m sacrificing too much. If pizza isn’t your weakness, but you’re still looking to make the swap then check out these other healthier options from Green Giant: Protein Bowls, Organic Mashed Cauliflower, Organic Riced Cauliflower, and Organic Veggie Spirals. Enough of my jabbering, let’s walk through the recipe together…
Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking pan with parchment paper. Place the Green Giant Cauliflower Pizza Crust on the lined pan and drizzle with 1-2 tablespoons of honey.
Top the crust with the feta cheese and sprinkle on the nutmeg and ginger.
Add the pear slices, drizzle another tablespoon of honey on top, and place in the oven for 14-16 minutes.
Remove from the oven, drizzle with more honey, top with fresh basil, and enjoy!
Make sure to pick up the new Green Giant Cauliflower Pizza crust in the frozen veggie aisle at your local Walmart! So tell me, what are you going to swap out this season?
