I have a confession to make… I am a Pinterest mom! Well, that’s not totally honest. I’m a bit of a hybrid between the frazzled, over-caffeinated parent and the whimsically crafty Mary Poppins mama. In reality, that means that I like Pinterest-worthy treats without the excessive Pinterest-worthy effort. If you are nodding your head right about now, then you will love my super easy (and quite lazy) Halloween treat for your little munchkin. Made in under 20 minutes flat (and that includes cook-time!), this is my Jack Skellington PB & J Pastry Puff for your own Nightmare Before Christmas…
As if this wasn’t easy enough, I’ll walk you through it. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Lay out the pastry dough and cut out an 8″ circle with a sharp knife.
Set on the lined cookie sheet and generously spread the peanut butter & jelly on top.
With the remaining dough, cut out two 3″ circles for the eyes, 2 skinny triangular nostrils, one long strip for the mouth, and multiple thin rectangles for the stitches. Arrange on top of the spread.
Brush the facial features with egg wash.
Place in the oven and bake approximately 15 minutes. Let cool completely and enjoy!
Why PB & J, you ask? Because kids are picky and I’m not wasting my creative talents on something my kid won’t even lick. So just give into the peanut butter and jelly obsession, already! There you have it, a Pinterest-worthy Halloween treat to spoil your little boys and ghouls! Happy Halloween!
