If you’re an avid reader, then you know that The Frosted Petticoat isn’t just about whimsical recipes and extravagant eats. We’re also about realistic expectations! Sure, whipping up a complicated recipe with unusual ingredients is quite rewarding, but so is making a full dinner in 20-minutes flat. And as a working parent, sometimes practicality and simplicity are what I’m looking for at dinnertime. That’s where my lovely friends at Tyson Foods, Inc. come in. Their new genius line of Tyson® Frozen Dinner Kits are the answer to realistic (and delicious) weekday meals.
The Tyson Frozen Dinner Kits, or as I like to call them ‘wonderful bags of parental dinnertime relief’, come in three scrumptious varieties: Four Cheese Chicken & Broccoli Pasta, Sweet Chipotle Chicken & Vegetable Hash, and Tomato Herb Chicken & Vegetable Pasta. I recently picked up the product in the freezer aisle and tried my hand at making the Tyson Frozen Dinner Kit – Tomato Herb Chicken & Vegetable Pasta. It was quite the delicious and straightforward experience. You can find the product yourself at H-E-B.
The meal preparation was delightfully simple, since the ingredients are pre-portioned and you can keep the kit in the freezer until it’s time to get cooking. Let’s walk through it together so you can see for yourself. Tyson Frozen Dinner Kits can be made in an oven or a skillet. Let’s try out the Tyson Frozen Dinner Kit – Tomato Herb Chicken & Vegetable Pasta on the skillet together, shall we? First, I removed the kit from the freezer and thawed the sauce pouch in a bowl of hot water for about 10-15 minutes.
Second, I placed the chicken in a large dry non-stick skillet. Then cooked the chicken on medium-high for 7-10 minutes, flipping occasionally.
Next, I stirred in the pasta, vegetables, and ¼ cup of water. I covered the skillet and cooked for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the vegetables were tender and the chicken was cooked through.
Lastly, I uncovered the skillet and stirred in the tomato garlic sauce. I continued to cook and stir the meal for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce was hot and bubbly.
All that was left was serving the dinner to my hungry family! And I served the scrumptious meal to my family without hesitation. Tyson Frozen Dinner Kits are made with all natural chicken raised with no antibiotics ever and other delicious ingredients.
There you have it! A great dinner kit to add to your dinnertime arsenal. Make sure to visit your local H-E-B and use this digital coupon for $2 off any one Tyson Frozen Dinner Kit (7/1 – 8/30). So tell me, which flavor do you want to try first: Four Cheese Chicken & Broccoli Pasta, Sweet Chipotle Chicken & Vegetable Hash, or Tomato Herb Chicken & Vegetable Pasta?
