Thank you Gloria Ferrer for sponsoring this post. Elevate your everyday entertaining this season with Gloria Ferrer wines!
There is no better season than winter to cozy up in wool socks, grace your shoulders with a beloved throw, and warm yourself to the sipping delights of a good sparkling wine. Not only is this a great season to savor life’s little indulgences, it also happens to be quite a romantic scenario. So whether you’re having special guests over during the holiday season or want to elevate your home date night, I highly suggest your do it with Gloria Ferrer.
If you are a parent with a toddler then I don’t need to personally know you to know that you are tired. Tired probably isn’t a strong enough word. You wake up tired, you go to work tired, you’re tired at the playground, you’re tired while preparing dinner. So when you finally have a moment for some downtime, the last thing you want to do is make a fuss. Obviously, I am talking about myself. I want to go out on a date night with my lovely husband, but I’m usually too exhausted. Instead, we have come up with a winter-time alternative. After our daughter is fast asleep, we light some candles, turn on some music, cozy up on the couch with our favorite blanket, and catch up on our week over a glass of wine. And this season, I’m adding a bit more fanciness to the tradition with Gloria Ferrer Sonoma Brut and Blanc De Noirs. Because bubbles always make everything a bit more fancy, am I right?!
If you’re unfamiliar with the brand, let me tell you why it is one of my guilty pleasures. Number 1: It’s affordable. In this economy, most of us simply can’t dish out $70 for a bottle of wine. Number 2: Quality. For the cost, Gloria Ferrer is an absolutely fabulous winery. They are California’s most awarded sparkling wine house. The quality of the wine is impeccable and has led to Gloria Ferrer receiving over 500 gold medals and fifty 90+ ratings in just the last 5 years alone. Number 3: It’s smooth. I’ll detail the tasting notes below, but in summary the Sonoma Brut and Blanc De Noirs are delightfully smooth sparkling wines. They are void of the bitter aftertaste that many (there, I said it!) bubblies have and are not overwhelmingly sweet. Number 4: Sustainability. Gloria Ferrer was among the first wineries in California to implent the Code of Sustainable Winegrowing Practices. That means that all of their pursuits are focused around protecting the earth and the people growing it. The winery is dedicated to ecological and human sustainability throughout all their endeavors, something I certainly am happy to support. Want to know more about the individual bottles? Then here you go…
Gloria Ferrer Sonoma Brut
Made up of 91% Pinot Noir and 9% Chardonnay, the Gloria Ferrer Sonoma Brut is quite a treat for the taste buds. Delicate pear and floral notes backed by toasty almond hit your mouth immediately. There is a vibrant citrus and apple flavors that linger on the palate, enhanced by the persistent bubbles, a creamy mid-palate, and a toasty finish. A solid choice for a good brut.
Gloria Ferrer Blanc De Noirs
Made up of 92% Pinot Noir and 8% Chardonnay, the Gloria Ferrer Blanc De Noirs is a decadent choice in the sparkling wines category. It has a beautiful light rose color to it and a full flavor to match. Strawberry and black cherry aromas with subtle vanilla pops up upon first sip. Creamy cherry, lemon, and cola flavors dance around while the lively effervescent bubbles give the ending a pop. I recommend this bottle for an extra special night!
