Let’s talk about clichés. It is a universal truth that less is more. This is the case when it comes to s’mores. Chocolate, marshmallows, crackers, you’re done. But sometimes a little bit more is more, even in the less is more category. This is what I’d like to call the ‘a smidgen more than less is more’ cliché. Are you following me? More than less is more when you add a bit more decadence to an already fabulous less recipe. Alright, now I’m just messing with you. The point of all this is, sometimes you can actually improve on a good thing. For example, today I’m adding a clichéd ‘cherry on top’ of an already perfected summer BBQ dessert: White Chocolate Raspberry S’mores Dip paired with Breton Artisanal Cranberry and Ancient Grain crackers.
So now that I have thoroughly confused you, let me dial it back a bit. S’mores are the quintessential fireside treat and this recipe is a fun way to mix up the summertime staple. I’m replacing milk with white chocolate, adding a bit of jam, making it into a dip, and pairing it with an artisanal cracker instead of the usual graham cookie. Making the s’mores into a dip actually solves a lot of BBQ problems: you won’t get overheated on in the sun, your hands stay clean, and it’s a safe way for the kiddies to enjoy the dessert. I paired the dip with Breton Artisanal Cranberry and Ancient Grain crackers to take this treat to the next level. They add a deliciously gourmet crunch to the S’more dip experience. Plus it can’t hurt to have a few extra boxes of these babies around. With Breton’s variety of flavors and textures, there are endless ways to enjoy them for any occasion – from simple appetizers to a delicious crust, or simply eating them right out of the box, there’s a perfect Breton cracker for everyone. Alright, enough of my yammering. Let’s get to the recipe details…
White Chocolate Raspberry S’mores Dip
INGREDIENTS
DIRECTIONS
Roast the mashmallows over the fire until crisp. In a medium size saucepan, melt the butter. Add the roasted marshmallows to the pan and mix continuously until a smooth marshmallow sauces is formed. Remove from heat.
Add the white chocolate chunks and jam into the pan. Mix until evenly distributed.
Pour the dip into a ramekin and serve with the Breton Artisanal Cranberry and Ancient Grain crackers.
And you thought S’mores couldn’t get any better?! Make sure to whip up a batch of this dip for your end-of-summer BBQ and pick up a few boxes of Breton Cracker while you’re at it.
