A little less than a year ago, I moved from New York City to Houston. I did this without ever having visited the city and my experience thus far has been one filled with many perks. BBQ, tropical weather, gorgeous homes, BBQ, rodeos, cowboy boots, BBQ. Did I mention BBQ? And one perk I get to experience only a few months in, is the Super Bowl. Oh yes, my new hometown is hosting the big game this year and the air is electric. Downtown is a hub of football, music, food, and fun. Although I have not been looked down upon favorably by the ‘Super Bowl Ticket’ gods, I am not one to shy away from a good tailgate. And because I am a fashionable gal, I believe tailgating should be both convenient and stylish. Here are my essentials: Easy snacks, decorative paper napkins, BBQ (of course!), and canned wine. So, since I am in the center of the football universe this year, I want to give my official endorsement for tailgating drink-of-choice to Seven Daughters Wines.
I like beer just like the next red-blooded American, but I also like a bit of sophistication at special events. That is why Seven Daughters canned wines are my go to for tailgating. I literally throw them in my tote bag along with other snacks, and I am ready to roll. The deep fruits of the Pinot Noir are great if you are pairing it with a bit of brisket or a large burger. But seeing as I like to pace myself on game day, I will be sipping on the Moscato Veneto all day. Its sweet honey flavors and light peachy undertones make it an ideal drink for daytime sipping and socializing. Oh did I mention I am not actually a fan of football, but more a fan of the game day party?! Priorities, my friends.
What’s on your tailgating essentials list? Shout it out below or tag your game day photos using #frostedpetticoat. Have a fun (and safe) weekend!
