Summer has officially begun, so you know what that means: surf, sand, BBQ, and if you’re anything like me… cocktails! Seriously, what’s better than relaxing poolside with a icy, albeit boozy, drink in your hand?! Nothing. Yeah, I know! So let’s kick off tanning season with a killer cocktail recipe.
Part of my super hard job is to taste test some of the world’s best libations and mix up drink recipes. I know, I lead a very difficult life. But, one of the perks of this job is that I get to report my findings back to my lovely readers. That’s you, by the way. Not everything I try is a hit and in fact, I actually make a point not to promote sub-par products to you. In other words, I have sported quite a few sour-puss faces in my time in order to bring you the best. Thankfully, anytime I’m faced with the “daunting” task of sampling a Piper-Heidsieck concoction, the results are always spectacular.
So when I was sent a care package filled with all the makings of a Piper-Heidsieck Rosé Sauvage Champagne cocktail, my heart instantly skipped a beat. Not only is it one of the best champagnes on the market, it has the perfectly bubbly branding for summertime shenanigans. So without further ado, I present to you the delightfully refreshing Sacré Sauvage Cocktail…
- 4 ounces of Piper-Heidsieck Rosé Sauvage
- 2 dashes of orange bitters
- 1/2 ounce of bitter orange liqueur
- Garnish with grapefruit zest and wild fruits (blackberries, blueberries)
- Add ice to a stemless wine glass.
- Pour the bitters, liqueur, and champagne in the glass.
- Garnish with the zest and wild fruits. Enjoy!
