With Spring just around the corner, it can only mean one thing… baby season! So today we raise a glass to one of the greatest joys in life with our Vanilla Prosecco Cocktail, inspired by this real life shower. Try out our recipe and follow along as hostess Emily walks us through the pretty affair:
As soon as Kristin told me the awesome news that she was expecting I knew I wanted to host her baby shower. After relocating back to my hometown of Salisbury NC from Washington, D.C. The planning frenzy was underway. I quickly enlisted the help of my mother and within the month, most details were planned. I knew I wanted a shower that didn’t scream baby boy, so I worked with a neutral color plate of winter whites and greens mixed with natural textures and blue accents. A local printing company brought my ideas to life first with the invitations. I was immediately drawn to the cute arrows and styling around the babies initials. These details helped shape the rest of the decorations. The wrapping of the soaps given as favors highlighted the arrows, the top of the cake matched the styling around the initials perfectly and the natural floral arrangements that my mom whipped up herself, (finding most of the stems in her yard) matched the green of the lettering perfectly. Blue hydrangeas in the centerpieces and blueberries placed in the prosecco gave a touch of color and a nod to the baby born that’s on the way! I of course had to add some baby details so I added the baby brass shoes, children’s books, and blue rubber ducks for children’s favors. I couldn’t have been happier with the way the shower turned out. Kristin received so many great gifts for baby Emmitt Reid and it was a blast to have so many great friends over for an afternoon.
