Unless you are a card-carrying member of the Lonely Hearts Club, then you’re all too aware what is happening this upcoming Sunday. It’s Cupid’s big day and we intend to help you get prepared… whether or not you’re actually prepared. So, don’t have anything planned for your Valentine just yet? How about an impromptu picnic?! Get inspired by today’s dreamy couples photos of gorgeous husband and wife, Hope and Justin, during their trip to Paris. So find an ideal setting, fill your basket with a French loaf and some cheese, and pick up one of these bubbly bottles from our Picnic Champagne guide:
Affordable: Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte
1995 Vintage Cuvée Spéciale Millésime Brut
This baby should only set you back about $60 and you’ll be getting a fabulous return on your “investment”. A blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir, not only will it pair well with the cheeses you’ve stocked in your picnic basket, it’ll be sure to impress your Valentine.
Moderate: Billecart-Salmon Cuvee Nicolas Francois
If you’re looking to spend a bit more on the bubbly (say about $180), then this is the one for you. A Pino Noir Chardonnay, a flute of this golden liquid will fill the air with fruit and floral aromas. Perfectly paired with a warm brioche and a bit of orange marmalade, you’ll be glad you brought this along for your romantic adventure.
Splurge: Taittinger’s Comtes De Champagne Rose
If you’re anything like me, then Valentine’s Day isn’t complete without a delicious rosé! Coming in at about $230 a bottle, this little beauty is not for the faint-hearted. Made with a mix of Grand Cru grapes from Côte des Blancs and exceptional Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reimsand, you’ll be a bullseye for Cupid’s arrow. Extra bonus points if you invite me along on your picnic… I’ve been dying to get a sip of this vintage! (I’ll be on my best behavior, I swear!).
Now that the bubbly is squared away, let’s “oooh” and “aaah” at Hope and Justin’s devastatingly romantic picnic in Paris. Oh la la…
