Having a hard time choosing a wedding theme? Then hit the books! That’s what Oregon vendors did when designing today’s gorgeously vintage affair. Inspired by the works of Shakespeare, they couldn’t have planned a more dreamy day. Designer Lydia Purcell gives us insight into the styling process:
I teamed up with Captured by Corrin photography for this shoot. We both lean towards whimsical and vintage themes in our work and created a woodland Midsummer Nights’ Dream inspired theme. Over several months we shared ideas and inspirations. Both of us collect antiques, so between the two of us, we created a magical and intimate world.
We headed for the Blue Mountains, outside of Pendleton Oregon to get the look and feel that we were going for. The mix of wildflower meadows and woodland forest side by side was absolutely the perfect location choice. I wanted the details of the wedding to blend in with the surrounding woodland by using natural Oregon elements like moss, branch chandeliers, and wood slabs as the decor. By combining these natural elements with vintage objects and delicate peonies, we created the perfect romantic dream.
