Monique Lhuillier: Fall 2015 Bridal Collection

I have exciting news to announce…  The Frosted Petticoat blog now has a Fashion Editor!  This makes me feel so official!  Annie Havlicek de Sanchez is the ridiculously talented fashion designer and illustrator behind Parchment & Pixel.  Educated at Parsons and with a resume boasting of her own fashion line at Anthropologie and a stint as a designer for Michael Kors, I’d say we’re in good hands.  Annie will be our fashion guru and give us the insight into the newest trends.  In addition, she’s going to grace our pages with her stunning illustrations.  Here’s a sneak peek of what she did for today’s post (you’ll have to scroll to the bottom to see the final illustration):

Oh, I’m so excited!  But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, I’m going to let Annie take over…Hi Petticoat Nation! So excited to be joining! One of the best parts of being Fashion Editor of The Frosted Petticoat is being able to tag along with Sam to the amazing events and shows she gets invited to.  Recently we attended the stunning Monique Lhuillier Fall 2015 bridal runway show.  We had front row seats and made sure to take plenty of pictures to share with you, the lovely readers.

The collection was inspired by the fantasy of a jewelry box.  A professional ballerina began the show, slowly twirling on a small platform at the front of the room… as if she was part of your childhood jewelry box.

The small, ornately painted room helped contribute to the feeling, almost as if one was in the jewelry box itself.  As the gowns floated down the small runway they evoked a lovely feeling of nostalgia.  So here’s what you can expect for 2015’s bridal fashion trends…

It was such an inspiring evening, truly beautiful!  As a special treat, I chose to illustrate the Elizabeth:  a champagne gown with intricate beading on delicate tulle.  The detail that really blew Sam and I away was the back.  Airy tulle attached at the shoulders drifted behind the model and gently floated down past the sweeping train.  It was an ethereal and breathtaking detail that I had never seen on a wedding dress before.

I think we are going to see these beautiful, dramatic back draping details trending for 2015, along with pale color and fresh takes on two-piece bridal dressing.  Which of these looks is your favorite? Which new bridal trend would you be most excited to rock?
