A Case of Honeycomb Envy

Brace yourself, Petticoat Nation, because what I’m about to tell you might come as a shock.  Today’s feature of a honeycomb themed baby shower is the most beautiful baby shower I’ve ever seen.  Nay!  It’s the most beautiful baby shower of all time!  Yes, I understand the implications of such an overarching and definite statement… it’s all down hill from here.  But when you feast your eyes on this fete, you’ll see what I mean.  The honeycomb theme is so gorgeously orchestrated in an elegant (and non-kitschy) way, that it almost makes me angry – honeycomb cakes, honey jar favors, deviled eggs laid out in a honeycomb pattern!  Arg!  Seriously?!  Okay, time to lock it up and contain my feverish envy.  Let’s have photographer Jessica Charles take over before I pop a blood vessel:

This honeycomb themed baby shower took place on a beautiful sunny day in Tampa, Florida.  The sister of mom-to-be derived her inspiration for the honeycomb pattern on the boxes that were used as pedestals on the dessert table.  To keep it elegant, the entire party was kept in a simple color scheme of gold, soft brown, and white.  Some special touches included a vintage buffet with vibrant yellow flowers coming out of the drawers displaying the desserts.  Gold painted paper lanterns suspended above the dessert table.  All the desserts kissed with honey included, Honey Panna Cottas garnished with pieces of honeycomb, a lemon honey cake in the shape of a pull-apart honeycomb, a bright yellow vanilla rosette frosted cake filled with lemon curd, and individual mini jars of French honey.

For the food, there were mini quiche Florentines, baked brie with honey and walnuts, pesto pasta cups, deviled eggs, and fresh fruit skewers served with an orange marmalade dip.  A golden bar cart served as an Arnold Palmer drink station, stocked with a honeycomb shaped drink dispenser, individual lemon garnished mason jars with woodgrain paper straws, vibrant yellow roses, and gold balloons spelling out ‘BEBE’.  The guest of honor sat in a vintage peacock chair nestled next to antique tea trays in the same gold color.

  1. Thanks so much for the amazing compliments and the feature! I fell in love with the concept of doing a honeycomb theme as soon as I found those patterned photo boxes! This baby shower is even more special to me because it was for my sister. Glad you enjoyed it and I hope that your readers love it as well. Dorangela
